Here is the plan for Good Friday and Easter in Hope Kids Elementary.
Good Friday in Hope Kids
Emphasis: Our sin and the weight of Jesus on the cross.
Question to answer: Why is it called Good Friday?
This is going to be a continuation from our lesson this past Sunday where Jesus prayed in the Garden for God to take the cup from Him because the weight of sin in the world was becoming too much to carry. We are going to spend time talking about sin and the brokenness that sin creates which leads Jesus saying He must endure the cross.
Here’s how Hope Kids will look different:
– We are not going to have the table games out for the kids.
– We are going to focus on slower and reflective worship rather than our hype and upbeat. These songs will have an emphasis on Jesus dying for sin.
– We are going to do two activities that focus on the cross.
Easter in Hope Kids
– We are emphasizing and celebrating the truth that Jesus is alive. That as Mary ran back to tell the disciples and the disciples ran to the tomb, we want to create an environment that is upbeat, active, and lively.
– We are going to have Easter themed activities for the pre-service games
– We are going to have 2 games during Easter – celebration and fun around Easter
– Worship will be upbeat with three songs
– Teach will focus on the cross but will spend more time in the resurrection and what it means for us as Jesus Followers.
– We will not have formal small groups, but still give you leaders opportunities to have discussions and do a small activity with the kids.
Ways to Pray for Easter
Join us in praying for Easter at Hope Church / Hope Kids in these ways:
– Pray that people would be saved and transformed by the Gospel.
– Pray for the first time guests and visitors coming to Hope Church. Not just that God would bring people, but they get a true and deep sense of belonging and community from other Jesus Followers.
– Pray for more volunteers in Hope Kids. We are expected to see 430 kids in Hope Kids Elementary this weekend!
– Pray for your own deepened discipleship – more so, that you praise God and thank Him for your salvation and His love for you.
